Frequently Asked Questions
Buying from us
Are your products genuine and approved for use in Australia?
Yes. We sell genuine stock sourced through authorised Australian distributors, including Aristel Networks. Products are compliant with Australian standards, so you avoid the risks of grey imports, such as phones that don't meet local rules or can interfere with mobile networks.
Can you help me choose the right product?
Absolutely. Call 1800 890 425 or use our Contact Us page. Tell us about your site (number of users, building size, internet or phone service) and we'll recommend the right setup.
Do you offer pricing for larger orders?
Yes. For installers, resellers and larger orders, email sales@telecomdepot.com.au with your requirements and we'll send a quote.
Can I get a quote or tax invoice before paying?
Yes. Email sales@telecomdepot.com.au and we'll send a formal quote.
Compatibility
Will this work with my NBN or internet connection?
It depends on the product:
• IP / SIP phones and intercoms connect to your network and work with a VoIP phone service or a phone system such as 3CX or Yeastar.
• Analogue phones, including cordless and big button phones, plug into the phone port on your NBN box or router, or into a phone system.
If you're unsure, call us with your setup details and we'll confirm before you buy.
Are your phones compatible with 3CX?
Many are. Fanvil is a preferred IP phone brand for 3CX, and most Yeastar-compatible SIP devices also work with 3CX. Check the product description or ask us to confirm your model.
What's the difference between an IP phone and an analogue phone?
An IP (SIP) phone connects to your computer network and a VoIP service or phone system. An analogue phone uses a standard phone line or the phone port on a modem. IP phones offer more features, while analogue phones are simpler and often used in homes, aged care and backup lines.
Long range cordless phones
How far will an EnGenius long range cordless phone reach?
The EnGenius DuraFon range covers up to 13 floors in a building, and 10–12 km with clear line of sight in open areas. Actual range depends on the model, the antenna and your site, such as walls, buildings, hills and trees. Tell us about your site and we'll recommend the right model and antenna.
Can I add more handsets later?
Yes. Most EnGenius systems support additional handsets. Contact us to confirm what your system can take.
